I love weird roadside attractions, especially when they’re off the beaten path and have relatively few visitors. So how could I not visit this place when I was in the neighborhood?

Rhyolite Historic Townsite
The Goldwell Open Air Museum to your left as you drive toward the ghost town. We passed it and would head back on our way out.

This was a really pretty place to watch the sun rise. There’s really not much to see at Rhyolite itself, just ruins of some of the buildings layed out around a short road – but that in no way minimizes how cool it is to imagine what it once was.

Goldwell Open Air Museum
The main attraction of this place is the replica of The Last Supper molded out of plaster.



We looooved the frame exhibit the most, as you can probably tell below haha.
And the Barbie was very fitting and coincidental since I’d finally watched it for the first time on the plane ride in the day before.

There’s also this mysterious building while a little sense of humor…



And a beautiful labyrinth. I love that everyone has collectively agreed to leave it alone.
