Hey.

I spent years disconnected from nature and all that came with it.
Luckily, there was a shift somewhere along the way and I haven’t looked back.

I created this blog so I could tell *you* all about it. ♡

Geocaches and a Hidden Grave

Confusion Hill is a classic roadside stop in the redwoods. You can’t miss the signs as you first enter redwood-themed-tourtist-land along US-101.

I’m not even sure if it’s still open – it sure didn’t seem like it when we were there, but maybe it was just done for the season? This was the first Saturday in September.

Then again, this was super early at like 8AM and maybe they just weren’t open yet? I’m sure we weirded out the people that live on this land… but hey, nothing we haven’t done a million times before haha.

The geocache was hidden along the main road, then we ducked into the woods to find the grave of Minnie Stoddard Lilley.

I’m not sure that everyone realizes there’s a beautiful grave hidden back in the forest here. It’s of Minnie Stoddard Lilley who was a teacher in the area for 44 years and owned a plot of land here with her husband. When she died, she asked to be left here among the redwoods. What a power move. Sorry, husband.

After leaving here, we headed half an hour down US-101 to the exit for a very tiny town called Piercy. It led us to a one lane, bumpy, gravelly road to find another cutie little geocache. I think it’s so cool these random little things are hidden *everrrrywhere* if you know where to look.
