Hey.

I spent years disconnected from nature and all that came with it.
Luckily, there was a shift somewhere along the way and I haven’t looked back.

I created this blog so I could tell *you* all about it. ♡

Trillium Falls

We saw a bear here! Nomming on berries right behind the trailhead sign. Up until a few days ago, that was the closest I’d come to seeing a black bear in the ‘wild.’ Right next to the bear warning sign, go figure haha.

There were plenty of people around and it was not a situation at all. 🙂 The parking lot for this place is pretty big, with toilets, picnic tables, and room to stretch out.

I love feeling so small out there.

Trees and ferns and moss and trees and green and meadows and rooty jungle gyms and and and

Imagine the strength of force it took to splinter that tree like that. What.

The waterfall that the trail is named for, of course, is called Trillium. I didn’t know it, but trillium is a white three-petaled flower that apparently blooms from March ’til May. I wonder if there’s a ton of those flowers here, it would make sense, right? – I bet it would look so beautiful.

When we were here, the Redwoods were in a huge drought, so the entire forest was covered in a layer of dust from the trails and roads which seriously needed a nice bath. Don’t worry, we alllll got one soon.

We took a minute to hang out on the rocks under the bridge by the waterfall to eat some snacks and take a breather.

We could have continued further on the trail after the falls, but turned around instead to cut the trip shorter and make headway toward the Prairie Creek Redwoods where we had campground reservations and – surprise – waaaay more trees to see.
